Kayaking in the coastal waters of the Cape Peninsula, of False Bay, along the Garden Route and on the lagoon of Langebaan enjoys a growing popularity. There are a few producers of one- or two-seater polyester seakayaks in Cape Town. They can be purchased or rented at low prices. Because sea-kayaking can become dangerous, beginners should attend a one-day (or longer) training course, before going to sea. Beginners often underestimate the dangers arising from wind, surf and fog.
